Biral manufactures a family of devices based on our proprietary "ASAS Technology" that characterises particle populations according to size, shape, concentration and fluorescence in real-time. The range includes the Aspect (particle size and shape analyser - see below for details) and the VeroTect (particle count, size, shape and fluorescence analyser). Aspect Aerosol Size and Shape Analyser

Using proprietary ASAS Technology, the Aspect is Biral’s particle size and shape analyser for industrial applications.

Although there are many techniques available to derive particle size distribution and concentration, the Aspect is the only commercial device available today that incorporates real-time shape analysis at up to 20,000 particles per second. With its compact, flexible mechanical design and straight-forward software, the Aspect is a very powerful tool for research, development and process control in a broad range of industries.

Principal Hardware Features

The Aspect has a versatile design that is robust and environmentally stable with a small physical footprint (47cm x 27cm). With an isokinetic inlet for ambient sampling and exhaust filter for protection from noxious particles the Aspect measures:

Particle Size: 0.5 - 20um optical equivalent diameter

Shape: Asymmetry Factor

Particle Counting: at up to 20,000 per second

Software Features

The Aspect software is versatile and straight forward to use and is run and controlled from MS Windows on a standard PC. Data can be exported to Excel.

Integration to other analysis software is feasible and there is an automatic instrument performance check function.

The software provides powerful analysis functions displaying real-time simultaneous graphical distributions.

Powerful Analysis Features

The device counts particles individually whilst recording their size and asymmetry factor data. Aspect’s own powerful analysis software enables real-time and simultaneous display of a range of graphs and distributions including:
