The COMPACT range of wind speed sensors

The Compact wind speed anemometer is a mechanical cup instrument designed for the measurement of the horizontal component of the wind speed with analogue output signals. It is designed for building control technology systems, industrial power plants, wind power plants and the environmental protection sector – everywhere where precise weather data must be determined and converted for control technology purposes.

Selected and tested materials ensure the operation even under extreme conditions. The housings are made of seawater-resistant anodized aluminum. Cupstar is made of glass fiber reinforced special plastic and thus extremely durable and resistant.

There are 5 models with different analogue outputs which can be transmitted to recording instruments, data loggers, process control systems and displays.The different electrical outputs are universally compatible with other systems. Please refer to the wind speed indicators and alarms listed under accessories below.

For winter operation the instrument is equipped with electronically regulated heating which guarantees smooth running of the ball bearings and prevents the moving parts from icing-up.

What it does

The Compact series wind speed sensor has 3 rotating cups that move around a high quality bearing system providing a set amount of rotations for each wind speed. The amount of rotations and therefore the wind speed values are converted to proportional analogue signal outputs and this allows this sensor to be integrated into the widest variety of stations and logging systems.
