Comparison of METEK SODAR and CIBA Met Tower |
|||||||||||||
|
Back to previous page A comparison was carried our between the CIBA Met Tower (University of Valladolid, Spain) and the METEK SODAR PCS2000-24 in 2002. The tower provides a height of 100 m agl for the upper level. The following comparisons were performed for the 100 m height of the SODAR output. Unfortunately in mid April 2002 the height adjustments for the second part of the comparison was changed to to 95mhave been changed in, therefore the SODAR height changed . That might lead to small deviations, when comparing to 100 m from the Met Tower. The comparison distinguishes between the data of the 24 hours of one day and only the night-time's (19:00 to 07:00 local time). Turbulence during day-time's increases due to the physical basis of the measurement the scatter of the data. There was no manual data rejection on the SODAR data. Only data indicated by the internal plausibility check (in this case signal noise ratio and fixed echoes) have not been used for the comparison.
