_______________ |
There are two manual rain gauges we recommend, the Precipitation
Meter 5.4000.00.000 and the Rain and Snow Meter 5.4005.00.000. Both models collect precipitation in the form of rain, snow, drizzle, sleet, hail etc as it strikes the earth. The Precipitation Meter 5.4000.00.000 is larger with a larger collecting area than the Rain and Snow Meter 5.4005.00.000 and also has a separate measuring vessel.
Precipitation Meter 5.4000.00.000 Precipitation striking the surface of the earth in the form of rain, snow, drizzle, sleet, hail etc. is collected by the precipitation meter. There is a sharp-edged ring on the upper part of the meter which has a collecting area of 200 cm². The precipitation which has been collected is led off into the collecting can to prevent it from evaporating. The measuring cylinder, which is included in the shipment, is graduated in mm precipitation, making it easy to determine the volume of rainfall. To measure the amount of precipitation, remove the upper part and pour the precipitation, which has been gathered, into the measuring cylinder. Precipitation can be read in mm precipitation per measurement period. 1 mm of precipitation corresponds to 1 litre/ m² of liquid. This rain gauge meets the requirements of the German Weather Bureau

therefore Rain and Snow Meter 5.4005.00.000
General Rain, snow, drizzle, soft hail, hail etc., that fall down to the surface, are collected in the Rain and Snow Meter, the precipitation quantity is read in a measuring cylinder. ???????????????? Each instrument consists of an upper and a lower part made of stainless steel, a measuring cylinder and a metal holder. Installing and mounting For analysing the collected precipitation the upper part has to be removed, and the reading is done directly at the measuring vessel in mm corresp. 1 liter/m².
