SOFTWARE

The  Aspect  software is versatile and straight forward to use and is run and controlled from MS Windows on a standard PC.

Warning alarms can be set for when a particular concentration of particles within a size and asymmetry range is exceeded. A range of real-time grahical displays are available for detailed analysis.

Data can be exported to Excel and integration to other analysis software is possible.

POWERFUL ANALYSIS FEATURES

The software provides powerful analysis functions displaying real-time simultaneous graphical distributions with three plots or graphs from a choice of seven available to the user at any one time. The three initial default displays are the Centroid, Contour and Concentration History plots.

Each selected plot is displayed with a dedicated panel, which allows the user to tailor the display to suit particular requirements and which provides specific sample data related to the plot.

The range of real-time graphs and distributions includes:

Centroid Plot
A key feature of the data display is the triangular Centroid Plot in which each particle is represented by a point whose position is determined by the relative values of the asymmetry detector channel outputs.
Contour Plot This display represents, on a 40 by 20 element matrix, optical equivalent particle size versus Asymmetry Factor, Af.
Concentration History The display shows the particle concentration (number per cubic centimetre) as a function of time.
Concentration vs. Af This display shows the number of particles as a function of Asymmetry Factor.
Particle Number / Concentration vs. Size This display shows the number of particles as a function of optical equivalent size.
Cumulative Af The display shows a cumulative plot of the number of particles as a function of Asymmetry Factor
Cumulative Size The display shows a cumulative plot of number of particles as a function of optical equivalent particle size.

Additionally, software filters can be applied to the data which enable discrimination against unwanted particle background and better interrogation of particles of a specific size and asymmetric factor.

POST-PROCESSING ANALYSIS

The  Aspect  application software offers further statistical processing of logged data files, beyond the outline statistical data presented automatically with some of the graphs.

Six options for further presentation of the sample data are offered, all presented as a function of optical equivalent particle diameter;

  • Particle number concentration (number per cubic centimetre)
  • Particle volume per cubic centimetre
  • Particle surface area per cubic centimetre
  • Particle number (percentage of total count)
  • Particle volume (percentage of total volume)
  • Particle surface area (percentage of total surface area)
