Biral offers two ranges of visibility and present weather sensor:
- The SWS range provides market leading performance suitable for a wide range of applications.
- The HSS range is designed to offer the very highest levels of performance and reliability in the most demanding and hostile environments.
All Biral visibility and present weather sensors are forward scatter devices operating in the infrared part of the spectrum. The 45º scattering angle combined with sophisticated light modulation and signal processing techniques provide the highest possible accuracy over the widest range of environmental conditions.
Unique to Biral, all of our present weather sensors also have a backscatter receiver, which provides a more accurate determination of precipitation type.
The ALS-2 Ambient Light Sensor has been designed to complement the SWS and HSS sensors in aviation applications, especially the determination of Runway Visual Range (RVR).
